Our Beginning

Our co-founder, Shelby, has always found peace in cleaning. It is her way to cope — to create calm in the middle of chaos.

But in 2020, life got busy. Between family, the military, and everything else, the house started to feel like one more thing she couldn’t keep up with. It was painful — not because of the mess, but because cleaning and caring for her home had always been a part of who she was.

She began to feel a loss of identity — one that so many quietly experience. The belief that “keeping up the house is my responsibility” runs deep. And learning to let someone else help, to truly receive help, can feel like letting go of a piece of yourself.

That’s when Maid in America was born. Out of Shelby’s desire to help others navigate that same transition — and with her expert cleaning knowledge — what started as a small idea has grown into a company serving hundreds of local families.

Our Founders

Maid in America was founded by Shelby and Devin Ramos with a shared belief: that a clean home creates space for families to breathe, connect, and live fully.

Shelby brought the heart of the mission and the deep understanding of what it means to care for a home, Devin brought the structure to support it. As an entrepreneur and operator, Devin saw that what Shelby experienced wasn’t unique—it was a growing reality for families stretched thin by work, life, and responsibility. Together, they recognized the opportunity to build something that honored both excellence and empathy.

Devin focused on building the systems, standards, and team necessary to ensure that Maid in America could deliver consistent, high-quality service while protecting the experience of both customers and employees. His role has always been to create a business strong enough to carry Shelby’s vision at scale—without losing the care, trust, and human connection that inspired it.

Today, Shelby and Devin lead Maid in America with a shared purpose: to create clean, stress free environments that truly serve families—and to build a company rooted in service, professionalism, and care for people.
